PIANIST
ROGER WILLIAMS’ MAKES TRIUMPHAL
RETURN TO
LAS VEGAS FOR
84TH BIRTHDAY
CELEBRATION
LAS
VEGAS-- Billboard magazine’s all time greatest charting
pianist, Roger Williams, makes a triumphal return to Las Vegas
to celebrate his 84th birthday. Williams will
headline the South Point Hotel-Casino-Spa, September 26-28th.
“People
should do what they love to do on their birthdays, and for me
that’s performing for a live audience. I’m
excited to be bringing an all new show to Las Vegas. Though
I’ve been doing this for over 60 years, I truly feel like
I’m just beginning,” said Williams.
Keeping
a regimen and schedule daunting for many half his age, Williams
will perform a 12 hour piano marathon on his actual birthday
October 1st at the Harry S. Truman Library in Independence,
Missouri. Roger is known as the “Pianist
to the Presidents” having
played for nine Chief Executives beginning with Truman.
Williams
is one of America’s most endearing and enduring artists
with 18 gold and platinum albums to his credit. His hits
have included Born Free, The Impossible Dream, Laura’s
Theme from Dr. Zhivago, Till, Near You and
the Theme from Somewhere In Time. His
signature song Autumn Leaves still
stands as the number one selling piano recording in history.
Roger
is currently flexing new muscles as an author and is in the process
of writing Living the Great Life to 80 and Beyond. The
book contains contributions from former Presidents Bush and Carter,
Art Linkletter, Jack LaLanne, former Senator Bob Dole, artist
Bill Keane (Family Circus), the late Dr. Michael DeBakey among
many others.
Roger
Williams will perform nightly at 7:30 p.m.at the Showroom at
South Point, September 26-28th. Tickets are
$25, $30 and $35 and can be purchased at www.southpointcasino.com or
